Vertebrate Pest Management
Biodiversity Australia were engaged by the Department of Defence to provide an Airside Wildlife Management Officer for RAAF Amberley, with a focus on the airside management of macropod species and bird-strike mitigation. This role has been on-going for 5 years and has seen a 100% attendance on days where Biodiversity Australia are required. Australia’s priority when on site is mitigating bird strike risk to aircraft, ensuring their safe arrival and departure. Biodiversity Australia currently have 4 team members qualified to operate the airfield.
These works have involved vertebrate pest management and wildlife strike mitigation.
