Mariko is an experienced Systems and Compliance Administrator with a strong background in project coordination and integrated management systems across industries including construction and environmental services. She began her journey at Biodiversity Australia as a Project Administrator, supporting all SEQ units, before moving into systems and compliance, a transition that built on her passion for organisation and process improvement. Mariko thrives in team environments, building strong relationships to achieve shared goals. Combining her professional expertise with her love for sustainability and working alongside the fauna team (with plenty of cute animal encounters!), makes her role both rewarding and impactful.
“Working in environmental services matters because it allows me to contribute to something bigger than myself—protecting and preserving the natural world. After starting as a Project Administrator and seeing firsthand the incredible work our teams do in the field, I realised how vital these efforts are for sustaining ecosystems and biodiversity. Moving into systems and compliance has given me the chance to support these projects behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly and meets high standards. For me, it’s deeply rewarding to know that my work helps create positive outcomes for the environment and future generations.”
