Shirley is an Ecologist with a strong academic foundation, holding a Bachelor of Environmental Management and Honours in Ecology. She brings hands-on experience across a range of flora and fauna survey techniques, including pitfall trapping, bird surveys and microbat trapping, and has a solid understanding of ecological field methods and best practice assessment standards. Shirley is highly skilled in native and invasive flora and fauna identification, with particular expertise across Central West NSW. She combines strong field capability with attention to detail in data analysis and environmental impact assessment, supporting high-quality, defensible ecological outcomes. Shirley is motivated by continuous learning and is passionate about developing her skills across different landscapes and project types, contributing to meaningful environmental outcomes for clients and communities.
Why is working in environmental services important to you?
Working in environmental services is important to be because I have a strong personal connection to the natural world and a sense of responsibility to contribute to conserving it. I am motivated by the opportunity to apply ecological science to real-world challenges through conservation and land management. In a continually developing world, I know that my work can contribute to sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
