Biodiversity Australia is in the process of undertaking Wildlife Hazard Management Plan reviews for a number of Defence bases in Queensland and New South Wales. Development of these plans involves consideration, coordination and management of input from multiple stakeholders with varied backgrounds. Each plan considers relevant Commonwealth and state legislation as well as Defence guidelines for managing wildlife.

Wildlife Hazard Management Plans provide the framework for ensuring wildlife hazards are mitigated on an airfield or at an airport. Biodiversity Australia has team members based at multiple Defence bases in Australia; as such, we are well positioned to understand and manage the unique wildlife challenges that the Department of Defence faces.
